    Default Limit or No Limit?

    What do you play?
I think that the risk is too high at No Limit cash Games...Finally its your aim to earn more money and not to cry about Bad Beats -.-

    Default No limit everytime

    hi

I would say I play no limit every time - at least for texas holdem

Limit is more mathmatical / strict right and wrong and not IMHO very creative

that does I guess mean that you will loose less playing limit but equally you will win less
its a methodical, grinding game playing limit for me - so I dont

No-Limit is going to have more swings, more drama but alot more scope for creative play and game development

    just my 2p

    cheers scrawnybob

at first i was a limit player back then... its true you will have less swings but it will take a while to move up levels. i played about a month or 2 and still wasn't able to move up.
then i tried NL10 using short stack strategy, following the strategy strictly had my BR
moving a lot faster compared to my Limit game. in 1 to 2 weeks time i was able to
move up a level unlike my previous games which seems to me is taking forever...

but still you have measure yourself on what game you really belong... try to record your
stats and concentrate on where you are profitable the most. goodluck!!

    cheers!!!

If we're talking about holdem I agree with S-Bob hands down NL is the way to go. I used to think Limit poker was really lame... and then came razz. I'm on this razz kick and I play the limit table, and if you're playing the right limits you can really win a lot. The difference is that you know how much you stand to lose or how much you'll have to call to go forward in the hand. I really do enjoy it now and I jumped on a ring game with 5$ bout 45 mins ago and I'm up to 18 now!!! come join me "LombardiStix" on FT Razz.

    No contest. NL.

Limit at the lower levels is full of chasers (I know, I know), everyone always thinks they have the odds to call.

I do play Limit sometimes, but NL is far more exciting IMO...

I have mixed feelings about this. I have followed a few high stakes players I know and they play limit games. If you are going to play HU cash games you can only find limit games and I can understand why. NLHE is much more exciting at low levels. When you start playing 10/20 or more your playing for more then fun and you don`t want someone who just comes in and pushes every hand to steal blinds. If you are ever bored open up the limit tables and look at all the players that are there playing high stakes, those hands get massive!

limit, pot limit, and no limit are all quite different from each other

it can be quite difficult to switch from limit to no limit, or vice versa

pot limit (Omaha for example) is even more tricky (that's why the sharks like it :-)
