Omaha Hi/Lo
Today I played OH H/L ring games for the first time. It was actually a lot of fun. Might be my new favorite cash game. I started out in the micro limits because I had no idea what it would be like. Didn't make a lot of money, but did double my bring in.
Played looser than I would have in an MTT, probably because the limits were so low and I could always bring more in.
Next time I'll move up a notch and see how that goes.Last edited by Terminal Frost; 06-03-2009 at 10:31 PM.

I don't play it much either, but my taste for Holdem is getting a little stale. I might try Omaha again. Hi-Lo is fun - it just takes a bit more working out than normal Omaha.

I find the higher you go the more the idiots join and play every hand and bet massive. I had fun with it but had to sit out more hands then at a NLHE table. I know there are no cheaters at the tables but, 2 of them were raising back and forth. It was almost as if it were 1 person trying to sucker in a 3 person and having 2 to 1 odds.

Moved up from .02/.04 to .05/.10 PL this morning. In 30 minutes almost tripled. Getting an idea how to play these and finding out most peeps don't have a clue. Busted 2 guys chasing low hands.
Maybe I don't have the right strategy Nast, but I leave the table when the massive reraising preflop starts.
Think this is my new fav game.
Note to self: Make sure it's hi/lo before you start betting lo

It's my favorite cash game poker... because you can win massive pots without really needed to split... but most importantly I play it because I need to earn a specific amount of points to play a weekly 3k freeroll.

love the omaha h/l ring tables myself. when playing a disciplined game you can easily pull a consistant profit from the micro stakes. its unbelievable how many people i have seen that have totally misplayed hands thinking they had the nuts on the river.

It's true. You can get some mega-pots from low-blind games as players are convinced their hands will hold up and pile in with big bets. If more people took the time to try out Omaha it could really grow in popularity.
