Cash game strategy
I have just read the post about cash or tourney and i wanted to post these one. What about the strategy on a cash game, somehow i have never manage to win money over there. I have had good results on tournaments, but every time i enter a cash game my bankroll gets hurt.
I have been watching high stakes poker and they are completely crazy, i mean i know i have to play way more looser on the cash games, but people like Sam Farha are completely crazy. Maybe thats the way to play cash games...
Hope u like thread, and waiting for an answer.

I also find it difficult to make money in cash games. I read an article recently that refered to micro limit cash games. It gave a mothod of playing that was very and I mean very tight, playing only the top 19 hands. Doing this you only play about 10% to 15% of the hands dealt.
I have tried this and it does work but you have to be very patient you spend most of your time folding. But as micro limit games are so loose you maybe get 1 or 2 hands an hour that almost certainly will double you up when you hit a good hand on the flop.

cash game strategy
hi
I think the fundamental difference between cash games and tournaments is the objective
once you understand that and adapt your mindset it becomes easier to formulate your own strategy based on that
ie. tournaments are about surviving and beating the competition to finish higher in the places - therefore its about preying on other players mistakes, positional play and most importantly your relative position both on the table and in the overall tournament - alot of your play will / should be dicated by this - so sometimes folding QQ KK etc makes sense, sometimes tyring to pick off the short stacks with drawing hands etc
in cash games - you dont have the same fixed points of reference - starting stakes etc
you dont know for instance if the guy putting all his money into a hand in a cash game is more than ready to reload 3 times over or has all his money at the table
which is another important factor with cash games - you HAVE to be prepared to reload - which means you have to have the bankroll to endure the downswings as well as the up
this is probably where most players go wrong - absolute min of 10x max buy-in and really if your struggling in cash games then dont risk more than 5% or 20x
if that means the low micro stakes games then thats what you should play - it's realatively easy to double through ever hour in cash games at low stakes - but that may mean you make it all in 1 maybe 2 hands per hour (you have to play more otherwise your nuts wont get paid off
secondly when you have doubled up or increased by 50% then I strongly recommend leaving the table - and finding another equally juicy game starting again with your original buy-in
when I get a bit more time I'll write some articles about cash game play and some of the advice / suggestions I've picked up for successful cash game play - not that I get it right all the time ;-)

I must confess I'm one of the worst at cash games. I cant help myself from making plays on people when i spot weakness but the only problem is in the cash gamesdi they still call with poor hands and never lay down when they should. I think they main difference pierre the calling station and sam farha is that when you put the correct play against Farha he knows he is behind and can lay down his rubbish but with pierre he just calls and reloads off his credit card and tells the wife to do a bit more over time to clear at the end of the month.
Apart from that on a more serious note, all the major money seems to be earned on the cash tables and so i feel its a must to develope a stratagy that works and so I cant wait for you to light up your keyboard Bob and provide us with some good reading ......
These eyes are peeled

The most important is to select the right table. If you do right, your bankroll will rise

glad to see im not the only one
I'm also terrible at the cash games. I do pretty well in the tourneys but i get into a cash game and I leave mad more times than not. I always thought its because i started playin poker in tourneys and never had a good chance to learn the cash game as well. I wish there was a way to practice without losing my bankroll and plauying for fake chips is a waste of time ifyou are really trying to get better.
