I'm quite surprised about the removal of the re-buy events. Maybe it's more to do with the logistics involved with all the fresh chips and handling of money?
It's clear that some players prefered the rebuy events and structured theyre WSOP around them. I predict these events will return in 2 or 3 years at least.

Regarding the long delay until November for the final table, I think its a great idea and I'm glad theyre sticking to last years formula.
There are so many other poker shows on television/internet to keep us occupied!

I am hoping to go and play event 54, this will be my third try at a $1500 NL event, so hopefully third time lucky...My first try I went out within the first 40 minutes with QQ to JJ...and my second try ended up getting chipped out in the 4th hour...One thing I will warn anybody who plans on going and playing one of these events who never has before...Go in aggressive, and get your stack built up early, my event last year was full with 2700 entrants, and it honestly felt like Poker Stars freeroll for the entire four hours, the hands people played was actually shocking, so be prepared to go hard for the first day...I am assuming the good poker starts on day two...although I have yet to get there and find out for myself...hehe. Hope to see some of you there.

I like it because I like the watching it on ESPN without knowing who's already won and the way things were in the past by the time it was aired you already new who'd won.

well there are two sides to a coin. with the final table on Nov 9 it gives time to players to regroup and study their own games and their opponents.it is also good for the sponsors as lot of media attention is gained throughout the whole period. however other way to look it takes out the whole point of winning the marathon as it is not being in continuity.

I'll be watching you through the live braodcast from the WSOP (glad the Event 54 is previously on, but not before the 1st of july, meaning that you'll have to survive to the first 2 days sadie, if u wanna us to support you while playing)
Check the live caverage from PKR following this link:

And remember, i'll be watching you, if you tell us which event you're playing, of course.

    Thanks for the link Hojediade.

    About the November Issue.

From bussines point of view i guess is a good deal because more time means more money taking from sponsors, advertising, and all money that is generated now, and after known the FT.

But for players i think is a bad deal, because is too many time, yes you can study your opponents and all that but at the end your are not in the same "zone" that make you be in the FT.

You can have a great couple of days and be 100% focus, anything you try can work, but months later a lot of things can change, you already play several other games, so, for players view is like different games, you play one game now and another months later, they can say is the same tourney, can be the same players there, but is just not the same felling, last year can notice that.

Its like play a baseball game for some innings, then the game get suspended for rain and then you play other games to another teams and players, months later you play the rest of innings, for score and numbers can be the same, but players are not in the same "zone", emotions that you have in that game are not the same, and you play the rest like another game, so for me is not the same, and dont liked.

Also, if remember well, all the players get the same amount when the tourney get stop, so, the players come back and play again and the players that get out first almost get nothing new, so you wait for months, need to travel all the way back for nothing more.

I dont see nothing good from players point of view.

I agree. I remember this from last year. It,s all about the $$$ involved in television rights and audience. If i was a player I wouldn,t like that long a lay-off between the making the final table and actually playing it.I think it would really drive my mind around the bend.Plus you were in game mode and maybe you play some other tournaments in between and hit a bad streak. ??
