Once you get up to medium/high stakes Full Tilt is not a good site, they're chalk full of regulars. At $100 NL or higher most tables involve 4-5 regulars trying to suck the money out of 1 or 2 fish... it's not fun.

Alot of the Pro's play at Full-Tilt in the upper games, and there's way too many people playing in the lower limits, lots of donks.

I rather play on Bodog at the middle limits $1-50, u can find lots of fish at those limits just trying the game.

Kandel, did ya get rakeback on FullTilt? That would be great if you did.
    I sure did!

Pokerstars is a good online poker site for anyone, not just beginners. There is no rakeback offered on this site, but they have point rewards, etc.

It's good that Tilt recently implemented micro-stake cash tables. It's about time they got an idea or two from Stars. I've noticed that the overall number of players on Tilt
at any given time has dropped substantially since the beginning of the year.

Stars has all the action, and way more overall players than tilt (or any other online poker site) at any given time. Now Stars is offering a 1 cent Texas hold 'em NL mtt. I don't think Tilt can beat that one. lol

i started playing poker online on pokerstars... that is where i learned to play poker and started on play money first till i seen those freerolls they are offering... that was 3 years ago.

i started building up my bankroll thru freerolls since then and took me about almost a year before i accumulated about $100+ (yes i know, that was way too long...LOL!) but since i won my first centavo on freerolls i never lost my BR and learned to maintain it thru bankroll management.

i never played everyday, only at times when im free. just a couple of buyins on cash tables and more on $1 sngs. guess this is why it took a long time to build my BR. im not a good player just about 12% roi. im not taking poker too seriously but i do like winning and cashing in those mtts....

I would definately recommend full tilt to new online players due to the deposit bonuses offered and the micro limit ring games. With freerolls running throughout the day in almost every variety of poker, the site give young players opportunities to play games other than no limit and in the future can make them better all around players. The guarantee tournaments are another reason why I would suggest this site to anyone.
When at the tables, play for the love of the game and show respect for your opponents.

    OK up until this point

    Strongly disagree with that!

For people who are starting out in poker my recommendation would be to start with PokerStars, because they don't offer rakeback, and they don't charge rake on most of their micro tournaments. Once you have played online poker long enough and know the online poker scene well enough to be considering rakeback as an option, maybe then think about moving on to Full Tilt.

As for the comment that you should start with ring games, I don't agree with that either. The safest route into online poker, as far as I'm concerned, is via freeroll tournaments.

i think pitbull poker is the best starter site. playing on the big sites with the huge fields would slow down your progress compared to smaller fields where it would be easier to strategize. they have freerolls running every hour so you could get plenty of practice before moving on to the bigger sites. playing the play money ring games on any site would probably be another great way to learn as long as the players were pretty good.
