You always remember the suck outs against you but do you remember how many times you are the one who puts the suck out on someone else.
I don't play for the suck out but there are times when a short stack goes allin and you can afford to call with any cards to see them show AA and you hit a straight. Occasionally I'll over play a hand and still find myself the winner because the cards fall my way.
If you look at every hand you play usually the good and the bad balance out over the long term.
I prefer to win pots before the showdown and when I've had my best wins looking back at my stats I won many more hands with out a showdown than with.
