I always look to play a new style or new game when I'm playing at home with mates as we never take it too seriously so it gives me a chance to brush up on my techniques without loosing too much cash :P

Playing home game is most of the time to have fun with ur friends not a time to win money so playing alot of made up crazy game can be fun Like Indian.

I play weekly with about 6 to 8 people ,we basicly just drink ,and have fun small table limit like $5.00 (max bet)at a time ,but mostly stays around $1/2 .

If you want massive pots in a home game try "In Between." It is real simple and oh so painful. Everyone puts $5 in the pot and no one can bet pot on the 1st round. The dealer lays down 2 cards face up. If an A is the 1st card you call it hi or low, the 2nd A is always hi. You then bet the amount you want that the 3rd card is going to be in between the 1st 2. if the 3rd matches either the first or 2nd you pay double your bet 2 the pot. I have lost over $50 with the 1st A low and having a 2nd A show, low and behold BAMM, the heart attack 3rd ace popped. Just make sure who ever is betting has enough to cover double the pot.

I absolutely hate these type gamblers games. games that promote chasing are sick to me. I think the HORSE offers the variety that a dealer's choice game does, while at th same time keeping the games at games of skill. I usually sit out for baseball, follow the queen, or black mariah.

As far as games to play, try Liars Dice. There are several version on how to play and some requiring different types of dice, but all are fun and is a great way to take a break from the "Card Games". Just Google "Lair's Dice" and see the many different games to play.

After my friends and I play golf we always play liar dice to see who pays for the brews. It a great game with a great deal of skill in it. Give it a try/

for me the most interesting is the omaha, consider that the chances are higher but you have to be the best and to win

my fav poker game is texas hold'em ,but i like to play other variants too (omaha,omaha hi/l,razz,5-card draw,and HORSE of course)...i think a good poker player or who wants to be one, should defenely know to play this tipes of poker variants
