never be too proud to give up the blinds
hi
lol - Personally I would say the exact opposite especially in an SNG and MTTS - its a long game and a longer strategy
so my advice would be "never be too proud to give up the blinds"
if I'm short stakes I would rather steal the blinds in late position with a sub par hand with solely the intention of covering the most likely giving up of the blinds when it comes tomy turn
short staked your going to get pushed on the blinds without a doubt by someone ... better to do the same play yourself late than get obsessed with "your" blinds
its more important to guiard "your" chips on an orbit basis than get focussed on the hand /blind by blind basis
many and SNG or MTT Ive been short staked (that has become a specialist area for me lol) and out played bigger short medium stacks by really thinking about where you want to get stuck or not for all your chips
never give up even if your down to fumes - Ive won sngs from 35 chips with 5 left before now
In a cash game - well that IMHO is different as blind stealling and sussing out blind steals and making the RIGHT stand is all part of the game - unless its low low stakes in which case IMHO the more global macro outlook on your chips is a better approach
I'm not saying get steam rollers ever time - but I love it when I find players who will defend there blinds to the ends of the earth ... yove got position AND you know alot of the time they have not much

think much.?
I'm more of a if i fold em maybe they will knock each other out kinda guy. I find in the sit and gos that the first two people will be gone shortly and then time to play. I'm no pro but I have decent luck with that approach. ha

Defending blinds in a SNG is a HUGE LEAK!! Maintaining some decent Fold Equity for late stage play is key and spewing chips by protecting blinds, when you'll be playing out of position after the flop is a good way to lose an SNG. What's the plan when playing from the blinds?... lead out with a donkbet on the flop? Any decent SNG player will see right thru this in a heartbeat.

I agree with the previous posts..alot of N00bz & beginners get too caught up in defending blinds & waiting for the right cards in the right position (button /late position)
IF you want to play successful poker you must be able to give up your blinds..they arent yours once they hit the middle of the table..lol..focus instead on reading your opponents & studying how they are playing ..whos raising..whos reraising & what hands are they doing such with..i think this is much more valuable than worrying about a few blinds early in a sng.now as the blinds increase in turbos in the late stages defending or passing blinds are crucial/.usually after antes start..i start aggressivly stealing blinds..hehehe
Best of luck @ the tables unless your HU against me
