Ususally the weaker players are not that at all, sometimes they are the seasoned players just waiting and lurking to pounce.. win a big hand a leave and do the same on another table...I see them all the time so watch out for these types of players everyone

Used to play alot of the DONs on Ipoker but don't anymore.
They can be pretty easy but the fast blind structure turns it into a game of bingo usually.
Haven't tried them on other sites but I prefer the regular SNGs.

DAmn glad I read this cause I was just about to start a thread asking which way to go. These things seem to go the same way all my games go, DONS I placed 6th and SNG's I place 4th but I really need to start playing them more as I have been focusing on MTTS and cash games lately. But this statement I guess sums it up
I think what tends to happen is they are for the "sh*t or bust" player who with say $5 left will play one $5 "shi*t or bust" game instead of playing say 5x $1 normal sng's
Im playing for this to maybe be a way out of the ghetto so to speak but really for becoming a player not a 5th place survivor. Meaning I want to be able in a year or so be able to play holdem at my card room and kill it and know Im killing it.
Plus I got other advice that playing regular SNG will help my final table skills a lot more than playing DON's will. Plus I dont want to be a sh*t and bust player even though a lot of time, thats the position I find myself in

Actually if you play enough of them you'll see alot of regs. in them. There are alot of players who make a decent profit from playing DoNs & after one gets familiar with the game (ICM, Hi Blind & bubble play), it's not so hard to 20-table them. I've met a handful of players who took a stab at the DoNs, did some research (found decent articles on them.. ie. Jennifear, etc.), then began to put in some volume (reviewing HH's along the way on forums, for difficult spots). Each of them managed to build a decent roll from playing them.
So perhaps... they're not the quick sh*t or bust game, lol... but maybe to take a run at for a couple of mos. solid, then with a decent roll, move on to MTT/SNG or be rolled for cash tables (& not have to play 2 or 5nl)Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"

I'm kinda surprised reading thru this old thread... hearing member's opinions believing the DoN's are mostly for weaker, newer players. Hmm... maybe the losing DoN players. There's a ton of regs. in them, with THOUSANDS of games played, stacking tables & multi-tabling 20 at a time (<< not something for the newbie).

double me up!
i will sit in these all day long. i don't care what you guys say about them. boring? not if i'm doing other stuff at the time. i just sit around and wait for everyone to take each other out. play a couple hands to maintain my chip count and then as soon as 5 people are eliminated it's over. it pays my expenses.
