As there was no A by turn, I figured I was good. Just wondering how the experts handle big hands with small blinds?
Ok.. just checking here to see if I'm understanding what you've written here.... "didn't want to ship it preflop....... any A could call" < don't you want 'any A' to call here preflop with all the chips in the middle? I mean if you could've seen villain's cards preflop... & you knew that they'd call off with that (AT) to a shove... wouldn't you be shoving all day, every day??? I sure would be. (I know that some consider, well... I"ll play my KK fast if no Ace hits.. < this kinda sucks imo, for many reasons). If we can get villain to commit while they're way behind this is exactly what we want (or at least it's what I want).

Personally I wouldn't be, if i was playing low buyn SnG's I wanna take advantage of my uber skill then race just because I have a big hand. I understand a bad hand wins sometimes.

but I do agree with isolation
if there's a raise & multiple callers I'll often just ship it pre....

Last i checked.... KK isn't a 'race' with an Ax hand. SNG's... they're 1500chip games & if there's a spot where I can get vilain to committ their stack as a 3to1 dog, I'm never going to not get it in. I'd suggest anything different would be a huge leak.

A "race" is when two (or more) players get in pre-flop where it will go to a showdown.

Actually Sir this ^ is incorrect.

Race - A situation where the equity for two different hands is virutally a coin-flip (50%/50%). Very common situation especially in tournaments as blinds escalate.

eg. Some hands that would be considered 'races': 55 vs AKs, 66 vs J9, QQ vs AK, etc.

Really? Is this a level? (cuz you almost had me for a bit there... I thought you really meant that you'd be folding the KK, lol,.. good one.. 'got me')

    what's the point?

Just sayin'... a hand that dominates another.. or is clearly ahead isn't considered a 'race'.
