No. I'm just saying that's what happens. This is from Scott Fischman's article on pro-tips titles Playing six handed SNGs:
"Most people are familiar with the differences between one-table Sit & Go tournaments (SNGs) and other forms of poker. Because these tournaments only pay the top three finishers at a nine-handed table, the standard strategy is to play conservatively until the tournament becomes short-handed and then become more aggressive during short-handed play."
I'm just saying that everybody is playing conservatively until they get short-hande and who ever gets lucky on the showdowns wins. I tried playing aggressive and it worked I ended up stealing alot of blinds ppl folded all the time. However, I didnt know when to stop and got myself in trouble.
PokerStarts, since they fill up pretty quickly there.
At what time are you gonna be ready?

hi Disturbed. well i dont know if you played the game or not, i'd like us to continue our discussion.
and another point i want to discuss is "weakness".
you say:
"everybody is playing conservatively until they get short-hande and who ever gets lucky on the showdowns wins."
yes i do have s friend playing like that- meaning not undersranding the difference between 22 and 77, or 99 or aj or ag or even kq (if hes in the big blind and was raised) and theoretically you may base your game on a play like this, because it can hit. on the other hand, any two will do may hit at any given random situation everyone knows that! and sometimes you even may have good streaks and win tournaments like that, well not to win but yes to suckout on a player or two along the way who might of won it. a player who based his game on his skills looking at the long run and surely wasnt expecting this ballsy gambler to hit two pair with rags.
if you are putting money for poker out of your own pocket- this play is not for you.
"I tried playing aggressive and it worked I ended up stealing alot of blinds ppl folded all the time. However, I didnt know when to stop and got myself in trouble."
ok, we do know-AA is the highest pair and everyone woulda be happy to be holding it in every position. it comes rearly, and never when you are shortstacked.
ive watched/played thousands of players like these. sitting and waiting for their big pair before the blinds forced them to make moves.
the consideration must be there at every pot you play ang against every player. if you saw someone beating twice with ak so it sais hes good? no it says that he will most likely fold other hands/wouldnt know what to do if he hasnt a really good looking 2 cards in his hand.
situations like seeing this panicpeople as you say go all-in on top pair with a high pair on a 9 6 3 board while someone was smart enough to limp and disguise the stength of his jacks...
these are only two exampes my friend. reading playing experiencing (and sometimes even losing) is the key to become a better player, not insisting on one place.

My answer to your problem is to stay away from turbo games. I find the level of play much better (and my odds much better) at a regular game. There will still be some people pushing you around, but it tends to put some of the players out to lessen the competition. Then you just play your best game and above all, be patient. Good luck!

I think I will take a break from TH for some time. It's stressing me the fuck out. Lost 500 today on KK to AA preflop and AQ to QQ with a flop of AQ7. I know some of you "skilled ppl" will find some directing (as in director of a movie) to how I could have avoided those situations or how shit happens but please spare me.
No no I didnt play it was too late for me. Anyways your advice is valued. I dont think there is anything new to me in what you said, but still thank you for putting the time. I still think though you are underestimating my game.
I will PM you.
I tried it once but was too used to turbo that I suckedout very quickly. There was no sense of timing and planning for me. I think I will give this another shot.
Thanks

I would also suggest avoiding turbos if you are a decent player (+ev). If you are inexperienced then may be these are ok as they are more of a crap shoot. I avoid turbos at all cost, as i feel i have an advantage over the average player. In my experience the buy in is irrelevant, with just as poor play in $100 sngo's as $10. I played in a $100 sngo got my aces cracked on the first hand by K8, so sometimes u just get guys with bigger bankrolls!

Yes AVOID TURBOS if the crazy allin's already bother you. You seem like a semi-conservative player you wouldn't like it much and you would end up with small stacks moving all-in because you're not used to having to take such advantage of the early blinds. It really changes the game a lot and i dont like playing them much at all.
