Default Beat The Winter Blues By Exercising

Kind of cold outside again. They said today and yesterday is the same temp (26 degrees), but today will be colder with the 25 mph wind. Left my scarf and gloves at home. Went to spend a few nights visiting one of the daughters with no kids. She switched from an apartment that had a pool table. It used to be fun getting some exercise walking around a table.
My daughters new apt has an indoor pool and hot tub, so I am going to head over to that for a while. She bought a swimming suit at the store today. I am going to grab a few toys that are as big as my hand that float around. I keep them in my vehicle so I am able to play at a moments notice.

Getting tired of being couped up inside all the time. Can't wait to go outdoors for a
nice walk or bicycle ride, or basketball at the park. There are only so many 5 lap
walks at the big stores, Lowes, Walmart, Target, Menards. What do you do for
exercise in the winter time to keep the stomach from getting so big that you can't
    see your toes???

As long as it's dry I go for a 3/5 mile walk along the quay then up into town to grab a cup of tea.If it's cold I just wrap up warm and do the same.If you put Exeter Quay in google you'll see what a lovely walk it is.

I have a cycle/cross trainer but I find because the pedals are so long I find it hard to cycle on it.I have just started using this again as it was in the garage but so cold out there I gave up.I have now found a place in the house for it.

I'm in desparate need to lose about 9kgs.

I started yesterday and hoping by the end of April will of acheived it.It's hard as I work in a food store so I get to see the bargains and buy them.Althou I now only take a few pounds to work so I'm not tempted to buy.

Looks beautiful. Did not know that you were from the UK. I am in the U.S. I wish I had the option to bundle upbut once it drops below 32 degrees, I do not venture out. About 3 years ago I had to start taking allegry pills because I started coughing around smokers and cold weather. I passed out several times because I could not catch my breath when I had an attack. The pills work very well, they are a generic Clariton. I also start coughting like when I made rice and cream of chicken soup. Eating warm food can make me cough, at times. I just try not to keep myself in harms way very long.

I do enjoy driving out of my way to beautiful locations, just for the scenic walk.

Here is one on the places I have visited called the Coon Rapids Dam. It has a park and picnic area and miles of walking paths, along with canoe rentals. I park outside the location for free parking. Biked there also.

Keep trying to keep the body fine tuned.

Canoe? How the hell do you stop when you get under the bridge?
Maybe if you like rafting ...

    Hey king,

I've gone canoeing with my daughter in the waters that approach the Dam. The current is strong so I had to stay within 10 feet of the shoreline to control the canoe. There was a small cove in the park theat leads to the Dam. If you stay in the cove, instead of the river, it is safer when you have a boat with no motor. People fish right before the Dam in boats with motors.

After the dam, the water is so wide there are some islands in the middle of the river.
And there is a 8 mile route from the Dam to a park near Hwy 694 that is very calm and beautiful, but I haven't done the route yet. I have just played at both parks at each end of the
    route.

Sorry , but I can't seem to find any pics of both sides of the Dam to show you the calmer waters.

I have been meaning to go rafting for years. I thought I would be doing it in a small canal in Clearwater, Florida, but I forgot about this stretch of water. After I make the tetherball set, I will have to make it a priority to do this 8 mile river ride.
