    Default Favourite tennis tournament/surface...and why

Do you prefer clay, grass...hardcourts?? Do you or have you played and did u enjoy it?

I watched French Open (Clay) today...v happy that Rafa won.

Also love Wimbledon and Aussie Open...apparently the atmosphere is great in Melbourne, but it doesn't come over too well on the tv...for me, Wimbledon seems to convey best of all the trials and tribulations of the players and the crowd involvement, followed by Roland Garros...

I'll watch it any time...Queens (grass preparation) next b4 Wimbledon...

    can't wait!

    I can't stand tennis

Goes back to my childhood where Wimbledon was 'the' event of the year for my Mum.

She took time off work to watch the last week every year

I also don't like golf or cricket - such boringly slow games IMO

I am soooo grateful the world cup starts this week - will have some decent sport to watch during the summer for a change

Lol, yeah, I can understand if you were forced to watch it and didn't like it...

Agree totally about golf and cricket...mind-numbingly boring...

Yeah, let's hope we do ok, in WorldCup, Britain's trial teams have looked pretty crappy so far, but maybe that's his secret strategy and we'll blow em all off the pitch!

Ok, going back to dreaming now

Oh I played, but it was say 20-25 years ago, I used to dive around the court more than Boris Becker so I'd have to go with grass, everything else hurts. It was fun at the time but I wouldn't try it now, not without a couple of courtside paramedics.

Oh, you are so wrong. Golf is the greatest game, you take a stick and a little ball and you hit it down a field until it falls into a little hole, such a sense of accomplishment, and that's not all, once the little ball falls into the whole you get to do it 17 more times, the guy that invented golf was an absolute genius. In addition, the wife thinks your out getting some exercise when we're actually racing around in our golf carts with couple of 12 packs in the back. I'm thinking of inventing a kegholder for golf carts, it's all part of my retirement plan.
Cricket? well from a spectator standpoint it's an excuse to get out of the house for a big drinking binge. Picture this scene, you tell the wife you're just popping out to watch a cricket game and "Hey Presto" you're gone for 3-5 days and you don't get in trouble for lying, it's a win win situation. I played Cricket a few times, that was boring.

Are we talking soccer? That's the only world cup I'm aware of. It's been a long time since I watched any soccer. One of the last things I remember was Paul Gascoigne (Gazzer) crying like a baby. All I can say about soccer is Liverpool were, are, and forever will be the best, that's right Kingmotan, I said it!

Yes, Liverpool is a great team...it is soccer i was referring to...lol...not that stuff Americans call football but isn't in the true British sense of the word...

Can u get any of the World Cup in USA? Must be on some cable sports network somewhere for sure...

Any pics you can post of yourself diving around like Boris on a tennis court?

    Would be fun to see!

I believe the World Cup is on some PPV channel, to be honest I don't follow soccer anymore as there is nobody here to discuss/watch the games with, well with the exception of a few Brit pubs in the city. Lets see, drive to the city, watch soccer game in pub. Will I be drinking? Of course I will, that's a given and alot too
Then drive 80miles home plastered and more than likely on the wrong side of the road. Yeah, probably not a smart idea on my part.

No pics, my diving days are over, now I just fall and need help to get back up, nobody needs to see that.

Now, don't knock American football, It takes a while but it's a helluvalot of fun once you get used to it. My problem is with the College football, not the game, it's those male cheerleaders screaming on the sidelines and jumping up and down.
I understand those girls need somebody to throw them in the air every now and then but can't we make the guys stand in a covered, enclosed, out of view and of my T.V area until one of them NEEDS to come out and throw the girl?

All personal questions that I wouldn't answer publicly on the forums. If you like then you or judge may pm me and I'll be happy to read and maybe honestly answer any questions that you may have.
