Jeter will still get in starting lineup even if the bat slumps to a .245, fielding and his clubhouse presence to mentor the younger players is invaluable.
Speaking of young, I had a feeling Mark Teixiera would have a break out season this year. You could just see it last year. plus his position in the batting lineup favours getting good looks at the plate. Add that to the new stadium...

Jays and the double steal, fake bunt with Jose up to bat....anyone see that coming?

Wow - even without Bautista, they showed they have the will to come from behind twice and get an early walk-off win - something the Yankees didn't do in their last LOL.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Jays and Orioles finished 1-2 (I know - in my dreams LOL)

PS: The early attendance and viewing figures indicate that fan support is much better this year.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

Be nicer to see the attendance average the same as when the Skydome opened and Toronto set the record for attendance. Them were good times.

LOL yea it would be great as long as the O's got a playoff spot, finishing 2nd and not getting a wildcard would be a disappointment lol.

I just looked and Jeter,s early batting avg right now is .178 or something. Now don,t get me wrong I respect Jeter. He will dive into the stands for a fowl ball. He,s too good for the Yankee,s imo but he,s getting up there in age and young players have coaches. And Steinbrenner would call players up in the middle of the night and yell at them over the phone saying "he,s not paying them the $$$ to bat .200 If the Yankees start losing and Jeter doesn,t pick up his game I,m just saying he could get sat out with some injury excuse.
But what it really boils down to is I hate New York sports teams period.!! What chance do smaller franchises have when N.Y. opens the Big Wallet and Buys the Best players money can buy.It has worked for them in Baseball but i Laugh at the N.Y Rangers in hockey. They bought all the best Players ..Gretzky, Messier, Fleury, etc etc .. but Hockey is a TEAM sport and all the money they paid for these players couldn,t buy them even a play-off spot and i laughed my ass off.
So back to baseball I cheer for Toronto and Baltimore would be good too.I cheer for the underdogs.Tampa Bay had a great season and sold off there whole Team because now the players wanted so much money they couldn,t afford to pay them or the ownership just got greedy and held a garage sale. And N.Y. was right there like vultures to pick the bones.
Finally as some-one said earlier it would be nice if the fans came out and supported the Toronto Team then they wouldn,t have to sell off there best players after they had a good season and wanted more money.I will say Toronto has one of the best scouting systems and farm Teams because they keep finding disamonds in the rough.

Didn't like it when they took Ricky out after 93 pitches today and brought in the choke artist (Frasor). He just can't pitch in clutch situations, as witnessed in his last two appearances and all last year (even if he does get a lot of KO's). IMO they should trade him. Think Casey could have done a better job, but now they have sent him down to AAA.

Sorry to see Escobar get injured but glad to see Johnny Mac get a chance to play. He is the fan's most popular player - as witnessed by his reception on opening day (he's the reason I got a MAC computer - I lie), and I still think if he was playing regular, he would be more of an asset. He learned to pull the ball last year and has contributed in all his games played this year.

Anyway, Jose should be back in LA, and we get to see the overpaid reject (wonder who) - isn't he doing well so far? LOL Hope he doesn't wake up against us.

    OK - let's play GM.

We've already sent Janssen .000 ERA to AAA (too bad). Now who goes when Dotel comes back - probably Villenueva - another .OOO ERA? And what happens when Morrow and Francisco return - hopefully Frasor goes but who else? So much for the pitchers.

What happens when Lawrie is brought up (maybe sooner than later)? Does EE go - maybe Nix or even Aaron Hill? Does Podsednik enter into the picture, and what happens with him and Rivera when Yunel and Jose are both back?

It seems AA has his work cut out for him - will he trade some of the above for future draft picks - if so the Jays would be looking good for the future. We sure have a lot of depth with very few places (if any) to put them.

When will Francisco be back? I got him on my fantasy team on the DL and hoping he will come back soon lol. As for the Orioles we got a 6 game stretch beginning tonite against the best team in baseball the Rangers and the Yankees so this will be a big test for us. Im hoping we can win both series and come out with a 4-2 record but 6-0 would be even better lol.

Morrow and Franciscoare on the 15 Day DL as of Mar 22, 2011

Both were sent down to the minors for rehab and had appearances April 8th.

Brandon Morrow threw for three innings giving up four earned runs from eight hits and a walk with only two strikeouts. Closer Frank Francisco also made an appearance in the same game allowed two runs, one a solo home run.

I thought Francisco would of been back by now and when he does he will resume his duties as a closer so hopefully he doesnt come back and pitch terrible and lose that spot lol.
