    Default Bluejays anyone?

Two weeks to go and baseball is back. The Bluejays are looking better than last year and have a lot of new promising players that should be called up at some time during the year (provided they don't make the cut) ie. Drabek, Lawrie, Thames, Gose.

AA has done a great job since taking over the job of GM from the previous idiot, and that includes trading the highly overpaid centre fielder. The future looks bright.

Any predictions of where they will finish this year ?? Any chances of beating the dreaded Yankees, Bosox, or Rays this year (if not, in 2012)??

    All viewpoints welcomed.

Its so much harder every year for the Jays to field a championship team, Alex has out done himself this year after trading the best pitcher in the modern era, he has put together a 3rd place team.

I'm a little spoiled, while growing up playing baseball I was able to witness 2 World Series come home to Toronto. You would have to be on life support to be a witness to the Leafs wining.

Toronto Blue Jays have put together some decent players in the past but injuries have always turned the season to be a disappointment. Not to mention over paying players only to see them not preform, hope we don't have a deja vu.

The AL East will be a chase to catch the Yankee's, they look extremely strong this year. Money well spent as is the case with Boston, but have the Rays improved?

Jays prospects have always been solid, one major difference with management from the Leafs is the Blue Jays tend to hold onto their youth. If we can hold the bulk of what they are going to field this year for the next couple of season....maybe the Doc will come back.

I would much rather see the Jays win then the HATED BoSox or the Yanks, but i am an ANGEL fan since time began and i believe we will win the West for sure this year

I feel a little disrespected that you left the Orioles out when you was talking about the AL East teams LOL. Dont sleep on the Orioles, we got a very good lineup and if our pitching can develop like they are suppose too than we could open some eyes this year.

My apologies for leaving out the Orioles. It seems they are in the same boat as the Jays - always chasing the top three. But I still think the Jays will be there in the near future, and with the young team that AA is developing, hopefully for a few years. Even though it's only ST, I'm glad to see that they beat the Yankees today (even with that overpaid bum A.J. Burnett pitching - so glad he left). Morrow is looking good.

Two more weeks and we're off.

I'm PO'd that I can't watch the Bluejays - Yankee game tonight because Sportsnet West is showing the Calgary Flames game instead, and I'm not going to pay for Sportsnet Ontario or Pacific, unless the Flames make the playoffs, which I doubt. Even if I do get the extra channels, I wonder if they will be subject to area blackouts, which has happened before (my reason for deleting them). I really was looking forward to seeing all 162 games, as advertised.

I can see the game. I like the new look Jays. They have added some speed and stole like 17 bases in pre season so far. That,s more than last year almost. So maybe they can play some A-B-C baseball with some Bunts and Hit and Runs then they may win some of the so many One Run games they last season. They gave up some Home run Power with Vernon Wells but still from 1st to 9th they all can hit Home Runs.No-one expects Batista to hit 56 or so home runs again but I expect more Home Runs by Lind and Aaron Hill etc to make up the gap this season. Its a curese to be in this division but leading the League last year in Home Runs makes them exciting to watch. May surprise this year ,,,,

    Default Pitching woes - maybe

Oops - Morrow (most impressive in ST so far) and Francisco (projected closer) both placed on 15 day DL. Morrow will miss 1 start and Francisco 1 week. Hopefully just a precaution in both cases. Lawrie sent down to AAA but expect him to be called up at some point this year.
Opening day should be a sellout, indicating a lot of interest this year - go Jays.

I was just joking about the disrespect part lol. The Orioles have a pretty decent team and are projected to go 81-81 this year which would be a huge upgrade. We did finish in the top 5 in team ERA in the last 2 months of the season so our young arms are getting better and if we can pitch like that all year we got a good shot at surprising everybody. Our lineup runs pretty deep and when ur projected lineup has Mark Reynolds hitting 7th it must be a pretty deep lineup lol.
