Thread: Favre

    Default Favre

How does everyone feel about Favre trying to come back as the starting q back for the packers? I know he only wants to come back if he gets to start. Will another team really want to get him as a starting q back with one year left ummm maybe..umm if he doesn't change his mind... And should he really be allowed to get out of his contract with the packers when he is a franchise in itself with the packers. I am really confused about my thoughts on this.

    Thumbs up Good for Farve

I like Farve and am glad he is back for another season. They offered him $20 million to stay home and he turned it down! The man just wants to play. People are always saying that pro players only play for the money, well here is an example of the opposite. He turned down money. He still has a love for the game and I respect that.

Having said that I would also like to make clear:

I still hope he gets sacked everytime he touches the ball while playing the Redskins.

    Post Favre "Retirement"

I have mixed feelings. I dont understand why he would say he's going to retire then want to come back. He don't need the $$$. It must the competitive nature of the beast. I think he is a great QB. With nothing to prove. But he has lost some respect as far as I'm concerned. He pulled on the heart strings of his teammates, his fans, and not to mention his family. The Packers were moving on with out him, He should move on as well.

    Post NY Jets Jets Jets

I never thought Favre would have landed with the NY Jets. With a "conditional" 4th round pick. If he plays a certain % of games and the jets improve and go to the playoffs/Superbowl the draft picks goes up round by round. The packers could conceivably come out with a 1st round pick in 2009 draft.

He has a contract, so I disagree with him 'getting out of it' However the Packers would be stupid to pay his salary to 'compete' or not compete for his starting job. I would have thought Tampa Bay would have offered a bit more for Brett, but oh well. Time will tell as to whether this is a poor decision for the Jets and for Brett.

    Default Kinda Sad

Too bad he doesn't get to end his career in Green Bay. Hard to imagine him wearing another uniform. Kinda like when Jordan came back after retiring and was not in Bulls red. Just does not seem right.
