College Basketball betting

Took a rest from betting on sports for a little while. I either bet 1 game or 3 games a day, because as you might already know, I hate breaking even.


I usually keep my bets at $20 or less. Have a bankroll at $600. It was at $800, but I got $200 in a moneygram from Puerto Rico.

Last betting cycle I was 0-3.

tonite's bets

Appalachian State -4.5
Elon College 144

I will give the points so I choose appalachian state -4.5 risking 15 to win 14.
I also choose Appalachian State on the moneyline -480, so risking $24 to win 5.

I usually only bet the moneyline on a team favored by 7, but appalachian state has already beat this team by 25 last month, so I am not worried about the close spread.

My 3rd bet is a pro basketball game.

That is another thing, I have won and lost money because I have put my bets in improperly on betting sites. .

my nba bet.

western michigan -9
toledo 126

moneyline -425
risking 23 to win 5 on western michigan

toledo is about as good as the new jersey nets going 3-25 this season
i would bet more but if western michigan was the home team
or better than a .500 team
western michigan did beat this team by 30 at home last month ago.


auburn 155
mississippi -9

i'll take the moneyline -440 for misissippi to win.
mississippi already beat this team by 10 on the road. I'd like to bet more
but i don't get greedy. I was fortunate enough to win my large NBA bet last night(4 unit bet). Sure and steady is my motto.

Won both NCAA bets and won my NBA bet last night. Won $5, won $5 on 2 NCAA bets.
I could choke Mississippi. They won 85-75 over Auburn, Mississippis scored 63 points in the 2nd half. They only scored 22 points in the first half, so at halftime I was losing my bet by 12 points. Seems like some point shaving was going on. They never took the lead until 3 minutes was left in the game and then win by double digits??? Please, sounds shady. But I don't care as long as I am on the correct side of the deal.


Let me look to see what is worthwhile tonite...
Click on NCAA hoops at my favorite sportsbook and only look for games with higher than 5 point spread(helps narrow down number of bets I make)...
Next, I look to see which teams the moneyline is offered. Some books offer the moneyline by 6am. Some books are way better than others for this. Some books
offer moneyline only an hour before the game Some books offer no moneyline.

No way is Northwestern gonna beat Iowa by 9, Northwestern lost earlier by 13 less than a month ago, but I do not bet against hometeams 90% of the time. I skip this game, but interesting if no other plays show up today. No common teams played recently so no valid comparisons to make an informed bet. Looks like Iowa has a scoring problem, they have a hard time scoring more than 55 points. Maybe that is why spread is as it is.
Stay away, not enough data for me.

Western Carolina already beat this team by 12 on the road. Western Carolina also
has a 12-2 record at home. Samford is under a .500 team. And Western Carolina is playin at home. Ding Ding.

Gonna play moneyline -500.

Have a lot of stuff to take care of. Can't look at more bets. I either bet 3 games or 1 game, happy I found 1 for today.
Took so long writing this that the moneyline has moved to -600, still a no-brainer

risk $35 to win $5. Easy money. Played already this year. Pacific winnin by Double D's on the road.

Lost my late night bet, Pacific only scoring 17 points in the first half and being favored to win by 11. Amazing.

Yesterdays results won $5 and lost $35.

Weber State -5.5
East Washington 149.5

Weber State won the first meeting of the year 89-67, hopefully they can bring the
same game on the road. Weber State is a good road team. Well, maybe not 4-7 being their record.

I'll choose Weber minus the points. Risk 15/14.

I am pumped even after last night's losing bet. It is amazing, There
is always a new day to earn money. One of the secrets is to not risk
your whole bankroll on one sure play. Slowly but surely. It goes up
quicker than poker for me by far. With $800 as my bankroll,
Most of the time I bet to win $14 on a straight up bet and on a moneyline bet I
bet what it takes to win $5. The only time I stray is when I have a loss, then a 2nd loss. Then my odds of winning are sure to win one of the next 2 bets. I have
not lost 4 bets in a row with my moneyline and straight up betting.

Thank you Weber State for playing like a great bball team. They were winning by 20
at halftime and I only needed to give 5.5 pts. Heck, got in a shower during the game.


Today, I have too much going on to be able to get in a bet. There is always tomorrow to make money.

Made no bets on bball last night.

Woke up late today so I was unable to look at any games played before 2pm.

Only 3 games NCAA left in the day to choose from...

Duke -9.5
Virginia 131.5

I choose the moneyline -550 for Duke to win the game.

This is the No.5 team in the country. Surely before March Madness, they would like to make a statement. With No 1. Kansas(losing to Oklahoma State) and No 2 Kentucky(losing to the Vols) having losses, They can let their claim to the throne be felt.

risk $27.50 to win $5. This is a sure thing but I won't risk being greedy today. I get greedy after a loss or two.

Deposit another $5 into my account.

Duke comfortably handles Virginia 67-49 to cover my moneyline bet.

Hope some Blue Devils out there made some money, as they covered the points bet also of -9.5 points.

Remember, don't get greedy. Keep some powder dry, so you are still in the game after any losses.

As this brings the NCAA regular season schedule to an end, I am told the year round way to make money sportsbetting(except for 60 days between seasons) is to bet baseball games on the opposite end. I hope I have luck at that because I am a quick learner and ready to apply my bankroll management and betting techniques to any sport.
The last thing I can leave you with, which some do not agree with, I told a buddy of mine when I wanted to bet the underdog Americans to win their hockey game today, don't bet against the money. Even if you win with an underdog, you win 1 of 9 bets. Might as well bet with the favorite, win 9 of 10 times and have less worries making money. Take care, all.
