I got interested in poker about 2 years ago, watching TV. Started playing on-line play money, thought it was great and have been playing ever since.

Enjoy

I can't even remember honestly lol. I believe it was 6 or 7 years ago when I got bored with Stud and realized how easy of a game Hold’em was.

Default Mentor required

Hi guys i've been playing since mid May 2006. I've had three Royal Flushes but never won a MTT or over $30.
A Mentor/Tutor would be gratefully accepted.

i can tell you the exact date i started playing poker, sept 7th 2005. I was on an university exchange to canada, and was living in halls of residence. My room had a common room opposite but all it was used for was to play poker for $5 a time. i'd stood and watched a couple of times in a hope to meet people. 3days after arriving i was asked if i wanted to play in what turned out to an 18 player game split into three tables. i knew the basic rules etc so just played basic A-B-C poker, didnt bluff or anything and managed to do ok for my first time. I didn't know anything about position etc etc etc, these guys had been playing at least one game a day for the past year as the NHL had gone on strike so they couldnt watch the hockey. As time went on I started to get better and learnt from these guys, who were actually pretty good. one of them has paid off his student loan and tution fees with poker winnings and still makes enough to enjoy the type of social life students are meant to. lol

Default started at pokerroom.com

hi

From memory I started playing at the end of 2003

my first site was PokerRoom.com as I was on a mac and this was the best option - back then everywhere was rammed full of fish and I was very definately one of them

maybe not the worst - as I managed to play almost everyday and for long hours going up and down my bankroll - making it last but generally getting through it with regularity

even with the losses totted up I figured it cost me alot less than playing golf and was to me far more enjoyable

Now I play less and loose less - and enjoy the game just as much now I feel I play alot better

Still feel it comes back to patience - 90% of the time I play OK and make money only to blow it on single hands that I know I know I should know better on

lol

cheers scrawnybob
