Sitting out is one of the most useful acts at a poker table. When one doesnt feel the game, sitting on the table usually leads to the way out...and sitting on the table and folding is a good option, but more often than not, the urge to play a hand takes over...its best to sit out when not in the mood...

So, it looks like the consensus is a player can set out as much as he wants. The idea of the guy forgetting about a tournament and showing up late then to come back to win is a great story. Good luck at the tables.

sitting out in tournaments(i don't mean cash games) is not playing the game because poker is not about the hands its how you play with them.

OK I m with you on this...There are to many legit reason this could happen. As you can see I wasn't happy about it then, but, today I feel differently... Thanks everyone for the eye opener on sit outs.

    Merry Christmas to all!

There is no rule against sitting out as many people do it, even in live play
