It is very likely - even more likely two players are communicating on places such as msn about their hand details to help each other out - and that way is almost un proveabletoo if done properly

cheating is everywhere as we suspect..but like it has been said before..stick to the private games and it is more unlikely and you can get to know the players better...there are some good people that still play ya know

That is something I try not to think about too often. From your responses I feel like an idiot for at least not avoiding these players. In live games it is called soft playing when two people are friends and don't play like they normally would. That gets me a little ticked, and I always exploit and rant about it at the table. They usually leave the table if I spot it happening in the casino.

I've seen it, it happens. The good news is the poker sites have very sophisticated software to detect collusion. It won't stop the occasional criminals, but will catch the more frequent ones.
It amazes me that some of these slugs actually think they are doing nothing wrong.
Sites also will investigate anyone you turn in.

What gets me is that people that have more than one account are not smart enough to use names that are different. Also cheaters do it because they have no skill.

I must admit that I have not noticed it much. Maybe it is because I play mostly MTTs and sitngos. MTTs would be very hard to stay at the same table.

I was watching a couple of guys I know (from a poker forum) as they were playing in some tourneys yesterday. I came back to check on how they were doing an hour later. They were both out of orig. tourney but were both on a few 100NL tables. Actually, they were sitting beside it each other on all of them, each of them with the one guy to the right of the other. I was quite surprised/shocked. I didn't have proof and didn't stick around to watch any hands,... but it did not look good (although they do have some friendly rivalry goin' on... but on all of the tables... side-by-side??)
I've experienced it a bit online myself. A couple of times it was really blatant in a micro stakes sng, with offenders even admitting it in chat. Other times were much more subtle on the cash tables. Sounds alarming but really that's the only times I've noticed it and that's after playing over 100,000 hands and 1,000's of mtts & sngs. I'd say that's not too bad.
