There is nothing wrong with slow playing aces, the bad play is not folding a hand that needs to improve.

While I have been on the wrong side of someone slow-playing AA, more often than not I've been on the winning side when given the chance to out-draw them.

You never want 5 people in a hand when you have pocket aces. You will lose more than you win. AA is ONLY the best hand pre-flop. I lose with them enough heads up. Raise those babies up!!!

actually it isn't just my opinion, many poker pro's will admit to slow playing aces
if you need sources, I'd be happy to provide you with more

thank-you for disagreeing, comments like that remind me why I play

lol, providing you with a source Slow-Playing Aces by Vanessa Rousso is confrontational?

Can you find me a source that says not to play the players, not to change gears, well honestly I wouldn't read it because it wouldn't be coming from a creditable source. If players are going to play like a stick in the mud then of course I want to play them.

    Where is the argument?

not sure why your asking me if I am Vanessa Rousso, if I was I would say here is an article I wrote. Instead I was providing you a source of another persons opinion. Someone who studies (and understands) game theory.

    Pretty sure the question wasn't
Would you slow play aces IF at a live poker game anywhere near beanfacekilla?

seriously if you get this bent over a forum post I would love to play live poker with you

Her assertions about game theory are only partially correct. When there is a single Nash equilibrium, there is no innovation; the outcome of the game is essentially already determined. That said, poker is essentially a signaling game. She makes a good point, but let's remember that she plays at pretty high limits.

Micro-limit grinders are probably still better off playing aces fast, as they have for some time. The "he thinks that I think regress" problem isn't as prominent at lower stakes, as the players are less sophisticated.

I'm only taking behavioral game this semester, and only the intro class before that. None of my game theoretic models have been subjected to peer review either, so I'm really only a passable game theorist.

There are people who are level 3 and 4 thinking even at lower stakes
