Ok. It is not, but luck is still involved I think. You win hands many times by showdown, and if you didn't hit the board, you wouldn't be winning the pot. But, you can control the situation by choosing which cards to play, and how to play them. It is a great game, and it is very rewarding when things are going your way. Peace.

Blackjack can be a game of luck and skill also, the casinos just don't let you use the skill (of counting cards). If you don't think so, sit down at a BJ table and try it. It's only +1, or -1, but it's not easy. NLH is also a lot of luck along with the skill, that's why there are so many bad players, luck allows them to win often enough to think they are good.

My standard quip is that poker is chess, but with enough variance that people will continue to play against superior opponents.

To me it doesn't matter if i am really skilled or just really lucky, therefore allowing myself to think i'm good as long as i am winning i don't give a rats ass to be honest.....so i guess that means i'm a donk right,?

I dunno. If you really didn't care whether it was luck or skill, would you frequent a poker strategy forum like this one?

NLH requires more skill than Luck.Daniel Negreanu has the skill of reading opponents when playing Live and could outplay them after the flop. But as skilled as he is he was getting killed at online Poker.I respect that he went back to learn the game all over again to adjust to playing Online where his skill of reading Tells couldn,t serve him.He admitted he was playing too many hands, and many out of position. That should support the argument that it indeed requires skill.

Poker is a skill that could take a lifetime to develop. Anyone who wanted to play poker professionally would have to be very skilled. Luck evens out after a while. It is good play and smart decisions that seperate the break-even and losing players from the players that profit consistently. My opinion. Peace.

My post got taken wrong i think, i wasn't saying that luck is better then skill or vice versa. I was just saying that at the end of the day your balance doesn't care if it was achieved by skill or luck.So at the moment of now, each and everytime it comes up only thing that matters is winning or cashing and not how you got there, feel me
