Default aa or ak

I would have to agree with sjokkis. so many times see people go all the way to the end with a possible straight or flush thinking that ak is a made hand and calling away there chips.

Default AK & continuations bets

hi

I think its one think making a continuation bet on the flop or turn with AK against the right sort of players and community cards

but continuing on to the river (or even the turn) when you seem to have lost the folding equity against certain players - is just giving away chips

cheers scrawnybob - webmaster

People might feel pot comitted tho, playing AK is a tough nut, but there is millions (maybe not that much) of ways to play it right.

The best advise I can give u is bet hard pre flop, and by hard I mean more than raising the blinds. You want to make people fold with connectors and flush draws before its to late. Its more likely you will run into high card A and pockets of all kind, if you do so, you have to remember that AK isn't un-beatable at all. Fold to big raises if u don't connect you hand on the flop. if you do, then you have to play it the way you feel is right. I would bet hard, if I get a call or re-raise, I would push all in the same or next hand (depending if he calls or raise). This will get them to say; "humm, maybe my 10's wont do" (example). Now it's all up to the opponent to make a decision weather he folds or calls. If he do call and u win or lose, don't flame the person as you both probably played the hand the best way.

no one likes a wise ass right?

always raise preflop with ak. If you dont catch and theres a queen or jack out there, you're probably beat. It's just the nature of the game.

Once in a while I think it's good to just call pre-flop with the AK, suited or not. If you hit your suit or hit one of your cards, you'll be disguised, with top pair and top kicker or a nut flush draw...at least you know where you stand!

but if the flop has lower rank cards, it makes betting the proper choice

2-2 vs a-k
q-q vs a-k

same thing

if, q-q is better than a-k
2-2 is better too

i know, i m wrong ...

but
we cant analyse pockets alone ...

we will play against other or others pockets cards ...

Default Ak

It's not certain that you'll win, just because you have AK. It's just a nice starter.
