most of the time ill limped with them and sometimes ill call a raise if the pot odds are at least 3 to 1,when playing these hands i just want to see the flop and if i dont flop trips most of the times im going to fold.

I think the key with all the small pairs is trying to see the flop as cheep as possible, cause when u hit your hand u are going to get paid for sure.

When the blinds gets very high compared to the stacks, its just raising or folding.

Usually small pairs are good for limping and hoping for trips. If the blinds are big they are worth stealing with these small pairs Good luck

I usually dont raise with anything under pocket 77 if I have pocket pairs.....Small pair u are just hoping to nail the flop and you should be seeing it as cheap as possible......

Heck today I called with pocket 5's and the flop came A 5 5. I just checked it, and sure enough the guy bet into me. The turn was another A. He pushed all in. I waited and waited and politely called........

Indeed Shad, its hard to play them in big blinds and harder in cash games and sometimes in those situations I simply fold them if I'm first, second or third to act

The best advice i can give with these small pairs is try to see the flop if its cheap, and fold them unless u flopped trips.

    You just said that

I agree though...they are one of those hands that have hidden value when you hit. Hard to put someone on a set when 2 of the 3 cards are hidden.

Yeah i think flopping a set with two over cards on the table is one of the best things it can happen when playing holdem.

Floping trips with them is the best thing and specially to beat hands like AA and KK
