Ok this is just a small strategy guide, and I mean SMALL. Just something I threw together on how I play freerolls, sit n go's, and multi table tournaments. Hope some of it helps you.
I believe that the best strategy to use when playing a freeroll is to just play your best game possible. Get through the first round of "donkeys" and then start to play poker. You cant just jump right into the game, because most of the time you will get into trouble. I ususally just go into the tournament with my head high and my fingers ready. To start clicking of course.
When you play buy in tournaments, such as the $1.10 or $2.20, you should do the same thing, except that you need to acquire a decent amount of chips in the beginning of the tournament. The reason for this is because you dont want to be starting the second hour of play with 1100 or so chips. You want to have at least 3000 or more. This is relatively easy to do if you play your cards right in the first hour. Most people will play reckless since it is just a small buy in. Take heed to my advice though; not all the time will this work. I use it most of the time and it seems to help me out when I play.
When it comes to SNG's, there is a whole different strategy that you need to apply to your game. You will need to just play it like you are playing a game of chess. I know this probably is making no sense to you right now, but just keep reading. You need to decide when the right time to make a move is, so that you can "catch" your opponent trying to take the pot. You just need to gather some early chips and then wait to get a good hand and proceed to further yourself in the game.
Some of these strategies are helpful and some of them are not. It depends on how you go about playing the game. Of course, these strategies that I have told you about, for me, only apply to the game of Texas Hold 'em.
