Thread: High Stakes Poker Hand

    Default High Stakes Poker Hand

I'm fairly new to Hold'em poker, but I thought I knew the rules untilI saw this. This was on High Stakes Poker on GSN today. Not sure of when it firstaired, but Gabe Kaplan said it was the first show of the season. Itwas the last hand of the show.Jamie Gold had a straight draw, and after the flop he went all in($142K) against Sammy Farha, who had pocket queens. They dealt outthe last two cards, and Jamie didn't make his straight. Then theymoved the last two cards up, and dealt out two more cards, and Jamiecaught the card he needed.I'm not talking about burning cards. The dealer dealt two cards faceup, and then moved them up, and then dealt two more face up, for atotal of seven cards face up.Can someone tell me what was going on? There was a lot of crosstalk,so maybe I didn't hear them make a side bet?

It's called running it twice. It gives both players a chance to win so they dont go broke. You can make deals in a live cash game. If Gold wons twice he get all the money, if Sammy wins wice he gets all of the money.

Not all casinos allow u to do it, but most do as it doesnt really affect the rake and money tey are making.

Jamie Gold and Patrik Antonius run an all-in hand 3 times in the series 4.

in almost all of the big hands they run it twice, i think that allows one of them not to loose so much money in just one hand. I love to see the guys placing side bets its just too good.

I recommend watching the episodes they are running now because the blinds are 600-1200 $ and thats much more exciting

Ive seen a lot of different situations watching HSP, most of the time they run it twice, but sometimes they run to complete boards. Ive also seen they run like 3 times, but the best thing is what happened on last week show where there was more than 1.2 million on the pot and that super rich guy decided he wanted to be kind and just take the first pot that was about 120K, so why are u risking all your money ?? i dont understand those millionaries who try to play poker as if they were pros.

I think it's kind of stupid to run it twice. If you don't want people losing money to you, don't play poker. The goal of poker is to win their money, so why give them a chance to break even by running it twice.
