From what I hear from reports and from friends I know who have been there said Dublin has some amazing poker with some suberbly friendly people so if you live near Dublin I'd check them out.

Full Tilt is the best in my opinion. PokerStars is up there too. Full tilt has good freerolls, and if you're looking to deposit they have a good variety of games and a good point reward system.

About Ireland...I have no idea.

I dont like the reward sistem i think there should be better systems on other sites, i mean when u enter a tournament, which is my main game, the reward is pretty weak. I think the reward is good if u play cash games consistently.

I have the same question as seancrowe (but not about "live" games in Ireland; just about the best websites to begin playing with money).

I've been playing at pokerstars and have come to the point where I want to play real money. But can anyone recommend where to begin? There are micro cash games (blinds 0,01/0,02 cts), but also tournaments with a very low entry fee (for instance 0,10 cents or 0,50 cents). I've played the 0,10 cts tournament a few times, but it seems a lot of players play that tournament like it's a freeroll; every other hand someone will go all in preflop, and most of the times not with a good hand...

Anyone know the best place to start small?

most of the poker sites small stakes games are nearly equally full of fish - certainly in the cash games and also in the small stakes SNG's - the MTT's also but you'll need alot more stamina for those as you have found out in the regular freerolls

in terms of game choice - personally I like to build a bankroll in the low stakes cash games, this is more profitable with a small bankroll than the 6-10% max ROI from SNG's or the much longer shot of playing low buy-in MTT's

but I'm sure other members will have equally good suggestions

I think SNG's, cash games & MTT's all have merits and if you can be a decent all round low stakes player you will build a bankroll
