Default would you guys and gals rather have.......................

would you rather have an ace jack off suit or a nine ten suited, me personally i think the nine ten is more apt to hit the board, what do you think?

Default 9 10 suited or Ace Jack off

    hi

I have to say I would prefer Ace Jack off suit

    why ?

because with 9 10 suited if a flush does come then you have not a very high one (10 high) and alot of chances that other players were chasing with an ace, king, queen or jack high flush draw - you only need to have another suited card come down and your almost certainly dead

this means that you need to play your flush fast if you make it - which means unlikely to get action from anyone unless they have a better flush or a decent flush draw or two pair etc

with 9 10 suited if you end up hitting some of the straight draw and not the flush then again you are in danger of being beaten with a bigger straight - more players are likely to see flops / go on a draw with 10 J or JQ or QK - if the flop came down JQ 8 or 10 JQ then your thinking your strong but there are lots of hands that coulld out draw you

personally 9 10 is my least favourite hand - as when it hits you are still quite likely to get outdrawn or have to play an expensive hand that could go wrong

with a hand like Ace Jack I like to see a cheap flop and then see where I stand - these are good hands for limping in and easy to laydown if you dont improve

with 9 10 its easy to think you have improved when in fact you havent enough / someone else has improved too - they are harder to lay down because player kid themselves with 9 10 its a hidden hand

hope thats a help and just my thoughts

    cheers scrawnybob

ace jack, if you hit a nine or ten, you have a week kicker, the flush isnt that strong neither especially if four spades come out, you gotta like the better hand, I will take the better hand of the two every time, no doubt about it

and a few more things, i've won pots with just ace high before, ive never won a hand with ten high. and if both hands miss the flop, i would feel more comfortable bluffing with an ace than with a ten, because you would still have overs, and possibly outs

ace jacks off for me please. and i would raise them hard from middle position.

9 10 for me is a limping hand for 3 of a kind or a straight, and to be honest- i wouldnt feel secured with it, even if i flop the flush.

A simple question but unfortunately not a simple answer.

The mathematics DEPENDS on if the AJo contains any of the suits of the T9s, for my answer, I suggest it doesn’t

The answer also depends on is this a live game or a net game, the size of your stack, and the “feel” of the game.

    So the figures: - AJo 58% pre flop- T9s 42% pre-flop

If I am Deep Stacked and it’s a Live Game, I go with the T9s, I feel I can out play a larger % of Players I come across live on the flop or turn, I feel I read other people very well, so I think I have a very good idea what the other players range of hands are by the turn.

On the net the math’s suggest AJo, so I would have to go with that, I do not play AJo a lot on the net I feel it’s a “Lotto” hand because I see a lot of people limping in with/ calling off there chips on Ace Dog suited and small pocket pairs.

It would depend still on my stack in relation to the other players Stacks still But as a general rule If I did play it I go with the AJo…I don’t like either hand at all.

    1) If you miss a straight, you arent looking so good, even if you hit that flush,
