ps. in reply to kidjokers reply - if he is on the BB then he's already got through the SB so he has only the 50 antes for the next 3 or 4 hands
Scrawnybob, do you play poker in the UK different than the states?
Dealer button, Small Blind, Big Blind. If he is in the BB, then he still has the small blind, on his next hand. He is well on his way to be blinded out. What are the chances that he sees something better than a K8 in the next few hands.
A saw another response on how were the last few hands played? Not a good situation, but I think I have to just suck it up and to go all in. However, if there is someone else at the table with a shorter stack, and you really want that last place money, then fold it away.

Reason: Messed up the quote
I think you missed the fact if he folds , he will post the small blind leaving him with 600, and then any all in would be called, or you will be called by multiple persons!
well by some reactions of saying fold ,, i go nuts, i mean your R: is less then 3 thats like SUPER RED ZONE, and in The Proffersors book it cleary says if your hand is j 10 + and your in the red zone, you'll have to call or push it in regardless of the situation, and this is HU , so lets say he has Queens, your probally 30 %, vs 70 % , if he has kings your probally 5 % vs 95 % and if he has aces, you are 10 % to 90 , something like that i guess, and it cleary is you'll need 3x % to get involved .
So hope your atleast 30 % + of winning the hand , push it all in !
It gives you four hands for one of the others to get killed off, or to catch something stronger. Even sitting at 580 after the little blind you can end up right back up around 1500 if you catch in the next three hands... which would buy you a bit more time for one of the others to die off.
All depends on how the other's are playing at your table. Is there the 'off' chance that two of the other's will actually get it in on a hand? then wait.
At this point it doesnt' matter what your 'R' value or 'M' value is now,.. you're on the bubble and are in desperation mode.
There's unfortunately been many times where I've been in similiar circumstances (don't know exactly what these one's are??) where I've had very few chips, if I don't push now I won't have enough chips to warrant anyone not calling me when I do push them in,.. SO,.. do I push now, or not?
I've had it where I've been down to just a few chips, was sitting in 5th of an SNG that paid top 3. I scored a decent hand on the BB with live cards and managed to triple up and then found myself in 4th when one player got ko'd. I was still super short-stacked but lo and behold, a chip a chair and a prayer pulled thru for me. I ended up going heads up but took 2nd (I'll take it,.. 3rd would've even been a miracle in that one!!).
Many other times I've been down to 300 to 400 chips in large tourneys with the blinds getting high and have hung in there, not giving up and have actually made it into the money many times that way. you just really never know,.. that's why it's poker, lol.
Another thing about poker,.. no 'one' answer is ever the correct answer,.. many, many variables come into play. That's the great thing about poker, there's always more and more and more to learn,... with it actually being infinite.

you answered your own question of how you think I think the rules of poker are - and contradiced yourself in the same sentence ?
rules are same everywhere -
he was on the BB therefore he has already been the dealer, and has already been the small blind ...
he is now the big blind ...
therefore on the next hand & total of 4 hands (6 handed table) he will only have the ante's
I think poster previous to me had the blinds round the wrong way - and I pointed out that fact
cheers scrawnybob
scrawnybob, I was just giving you a hard time, with the UK comment, but unless I am being a complete donkey, if he is in the big blind right now, then his next hand he will be in the small blind, and then his next hand he will be the dealer.
Button Fourth To Act UTG + 2 Small Blind Fifth To Act UTG + 1 Big Blind Last To Act ( no utg - perfect possition always ) This being him! First To Act UTG + 5 Second To Act UTG + 4 Third To Act UTG + 3
Then .
Third To Act Button Small Blind ( This being him ) so he is in Small Blind after this hand ! Big Blind First To Act Second To Act
Then
Second To Act Third To Act Button Now hes on the button , ante 3 x before posting blind. Small Blind Big Blind First To Act
So its obvious he still needs to post small blind ...
Yesterday i was watching 50 $ / 100 $ on FTP, one guy was so happy he found 2 donkies i guess , cause he was up to 43,000 $ and the max buy in is 10,000 $ and he was in the middle of the two guys , super position .
