NYPOWERPOKER is on a distinguished road
Default fulltilt round 1 freeroll strategy

OK, NYPOWERPOKER here, I play Full Tilt like all fn day every day....but I am having so much trouble takin one of these round 1s down....main event or Poker after dark freerolls...I cant seem to win um...When im rollin good i mabye get to final table...and bust out...my best so far has been 4th. i need top 2.

Heres the problem...Short stacked after first 10 hands!!!!! we start with 225players and after the first 5 hands were down to 150...and the blinds go up with all these crazyssss...U get blinded out very easily if u dont get lucky

My current strategy has been insta folding everything but special occasions(depending on position and the knowledge iv collected about the current hand) I been going all in with AA, KK, QQ, AKs, Ako, AQs

i do this till the blinds are at like 100-200 depending on my stack ...and it works sometimes...but most of the time, I get knocked out by some bullsh*t big stack playing any two cards... AND WE ALL KNOW THE BIGSTACK IS FAVORED in all ins....how many times iv been called with a metocre hand at a final table or right b4 it...and i get AA or KK AK.....and so on...play it perfect...but the second the money hits the pot...the tables turn to knock you out...

OK ENOUGH...I NEED HELP

post your strategys and we can come up with a master strategy and get a 4kingpoker member in the main event or on poker after dark

hi nypokerpower and welcome to our community. im jacks by the way

i find your topics interesting for me personally bacause i think you remind ne of the old jacks- the jacks i was when i first discovered online poker (and poker in general btw- i learned to play online). you see my friend, there is no answer for you on the after dark side... off course i can tell you how i'd play or how i played it as a beginner because i remember myself playing these endless tables/avatars/nicknames/the all-in everyone on the first hand and the donk outs and the luckers whod take down tha hand of 8 people allin with 6-2 off, when hitting that straight....

it is fun- no doubt especially when you dont have a job and especially when it's free....

but if you want, and i mean really want to improve at poker and progress yourself, and maybe to build a bankroll- the poker after dark IS NOT THE PLACE. trust me, i've been through all this and thow my english isnt perfect- im speaking here from my heart.

even if you do take the round 1 down... have you ever even watched what happens at round 2? or round 3? seriously- the fact is, they are all the same and it would be very difficult for you to play in the next rounds.... because the level wont get higher, and when it will- will YOU be experienced enough to play it?

i'm not a genius and i have no intention of teaching you my style of playing because everyone is playing differently. what i am going to say- is that you need to read everything you can about poker strategy. read every tip the pros wrote on fulltilt. learn from your mistakes and try to observe the real money high stakes there- as i can see, you do have the spare time for it. and only by playing (after youve read all you can) you will achieve this special- your own playing style that really works. not in the short term but in the longer one. and when you will find your success at the long run, then it will shorten by its self.

let us know how you are doing. i wish you all the best

Well first off - the big stack is not favored anymore than any other size stack - they just can afford to lose.

On After Dark .... I just unregister and take the 100 points

But how to advance one?

Simple - quanity. You can not expect people to play serious poker in a turbo ... when if they lose there is another one starting up in a couple minutes.

I normally have six+ of them running when I am playing. I normally only play hands where I am pretty sure I am ahead to start .... I lose I lose ... not the end of the world.

I am running probably around 75% through if I make the final table though - then I start playing it a bit more serious.

i can never play in round 2 because of the start time is bad for me...and it used to be if u made it to round 2 u didn't have the option to unregister and keep the points...but since they let u do that and keep the points that is what i do....in the last 2 weekends i have won 4 first rounds and made the final table 8 times..... i just play them for the small amount of poker knowledge u get from them and it is winter i have nothing better to do on weekends

i play very tight in the begining only playin very good hands and don't stay in if i think im beat and don't be afraid to fold your blinds...if you find yourself "chasing" just because u "know" a card is gonna hit you will be out with the quickness....that's just my stratagy seems to work pretty well for me
but don't think in the first 5 to 10 hands if i get a monster i won't jump right in on the all in...like Zach said who cares there is another one starting in 2 minutes....lol....good luck to ya

If anyone wants a little program that automatically signs up for them when they hit ... let me know.

It makes it a bit easier to get in them

well the problem with this freerolls is that it is turbo so the ahnds go faster so more luck will be involved becaue the blinds will raise so fast. So you have to gamble with more marginal hands like ace 10 etc. just try to get in and gamble and hopefully you can win and not get outdrawn on. Just stay persistant.
