Exclamation My 4kings 500th Post

Hi All This is My 500 post on this forum, The last time I hit 500 on a forum I told a Joke, This time I am going to do this:-

To Show or Not to show, that is the question. Gypsy's Holdem

Well I guess most people say do not give free information, OK I dig this, do I agree...

NO Not in LIVE play, but having said this there is a time to show and a time not to show.

Why IMHO, In live play not many, if any make notes on paper in regard to how people play, Live play is a lot slower, and on a Psychological Warfare Level, what information you do give away, has a price, or should always have a price to be paid, Simplified the price for the information is that:-

“They” believe YOU for when you do decide to BLUFF!

I think in the early stages of a live tournament showing you were not BLUFFING registers deep in the opposition’s subconscious, Showing strong hands even when everyone folds also shows you are running HOT getting better cards than “THEM” some people start to think “It’s not going to be there Day”

If no one bets, and every one folds after your pre flop raise, you might as well show your AA and get some benefit from the Psychology, setting up a “gypsy” play with a check re-raise at a later time when you get AA again.

To ‘Moi’ Table Image is everything, I set out to stay around a long time, others set out to get chips early, I take the view chips are important but

“You CANNOT win it if you aint SAT IN it”

So I don’t get My knickers in a Twist, if I have under 10BB, I look for a premier hand to bet out on. I always remember an old poker pro saying to me

“ALL IN can also mean ALL OUT” as well Son!

When Not to Show you hand!

Well if I tell you this, and there are 3 pages of why you don’t show and when you don’t show, YOU would be a bigger SMART ASS than I know I am, so am I going to tell you........NO!

I might as well get the £35.00 each off you for My new book.

BTW that’s around $70.00USD for the hard of

“pounds understanding” amongst you.

Good Luck

Play well in the swamp

Regards

The Gypsy

Default welcome to the 500 club

hi GT

welcome to the 500 club ... where the membership entitles you to ...

err nothing but respect (at the moment)

I will be sorting some things out for posting incentives / rewards for members soon ...

eg. the VIP (very important posters) Tournaments which will be open to members who have been with us for over 3 months and have made 50+ decent posts - I'll be working on these soon and try to make them as regular as possible (and at an obviously popular site)

but you can guarantee that while its a bit of an exclusive club that respect from the rest of the forum is priceless ... so a big personal thankyou for you amazing contribution

this is one of the big reasons why I've always resisted the temptation to share out the admin work (drudgery) to our most active members as I have no doubt your contribution (and others) of inspirational and thought provoking posts has made the forum a far better place

if moderating duties had got in the way of things - I'm sure we would have been a far poorer place for poker knowledge ... and so far the report post facility open to all members has proved that potentially 6000 eyes occasionally doing a bit is more effective and less hastle for individual members to do a little when they see somthing wrong.

anyway I digress ...

other members in the 500 club are -

gnk1221 ... 975

Killermanner ... 878

mafalda34 ... 624

jacks_off4me ... 552

kingjames07 ... 521

and those approaching the 500 landmark posts -

Dazzler69 ... 417

Shad ... 497

YoungGunKid ... 414

cheers scrawnybob

Post Show / Not Show

Good question there , gypsy , this is how i see it :

If you show a bluf , you can make a trap a few hands after if you really do have something. This is something i havent done recently.

If you show you folded a monster hand , people will walk over you in the game, never show if you folded like trips , or a straight or top two ... and so on , if you do that you'll only give them a small edge over how you play the game, unless you want to think they can walk over you , and then trap with a huge hand.

Either way , the show and not showing wont effect play all around all to much , a new hand is a new hand, anything can happen when those cards are in the air.

Each Page = 1grammes

Each Chapter = over 1 oz.

At the moment theres 27 chapters, so you will be able to press flowers with it after you read it, I would not recommend sending it though the post via ebay....

I am still writing it so it may be a harrington on holdem type job with 7 books.....ROFLOL
