In general::: Blah!! I think a re-raise is totally acceptable. You're in it to win it, not be friends with these people.
Well I am a cash Guy my self, I never seem to get on with computer tournys, and Live I am a disaster at them ( I never have the patience for them)
I think troys right here.
I do see jacks-offs points, and
Gypsy's stuff, as usual is above my "Intelligence Quota",
I look at my cards and play accordingly, If I had AA I would have pushed no question and lost but thats poker.
(I hate to ask fearing it will be the longist blog in the histroy of poker forums)
What the hell is all this Q,M,Zone stuff, can some one give me the heads up about it???
"If I had AA I would have pushed no question and lost but thats poker."
I actually do believe this is more poker, than pushing all-in with pocket 9's if you know what i mean....
Q M ZONE? what is this?
what is it Jack-Off, come on mate you seem to know about poker

i played the railbirds freeroll today (yes KJ they are easy) over 1,000 people in it, bubble place is 160...
so there are 140 of us left, and im getting 99's UTG and decide to limp in for a blind of 1200. a min raise from middle position followed by a call from the big blind...
i decide to throw them ALL-IN and get called by the raiser. BB folds.
so AA against 99 for a 35,000 chips pot... and the nine came!
These situations are not similar though, only the cards are... but taking in consideration that we play for the cash and not for the chips in the end of the day, this was a correct move IMO more than the situation KJ is talking about.
The point is, that 99's are more valueble as an ALL-IN move inside the bubble, even against pocket aces. not in the beginning of a tourney.

wow this thread is stirring quite a debate....atleast between jacks and GT anyway
just for the record yeah jacks ur situation was in a late in a freeroll that had close to 1200 people in it and paid a few cents to right around 160 people
mine was a $1.50 buy in league game where ronsmob was and i repeat was right behind me in the standings because he a nice distance behind me now and there were only 21 people in it and top 15 get points
so now how can you compare the 2 situations????.....lol...just wanted to point out i didn't do it late in a freeroll with a large field
By the math, the play was good. With the situation of the hand, the 9s were an easy muck. With an all-in player being called, I let the other guy have a shot at busting him. It's only another 700 for the guy to call. The fact that he just smooth called should signal that he has a hand, especially with players to act behind him. You only have 30 chips invested and a decent stack for the current level.
