i play aces diff. depending on alot of things. from chip stack to who im playing with. but most often i raise big. the only time i really slow play them is if its really early in the game. if the blinds are only like 10/20 and you go in for a lot you could find yourself winning only $30. i know a pots a pot but come on thats for the birds not to mention a waste of the aces you just threw in the garbage. i guess the point is if you can make something than make it, but if you cant i'd rather loose a bit on a draw than than win nothing at all.

LIMPING WITH ACES THEN REPOPING A RAISE IS A NEW MOVE THAT WIZZKIDS ARE STARTING TO USE. OLDSCHOOL PLAYERS LIKE ME WILL TELL YOU ITS NUTS. WHEN YOU LOSE TO j 10 LIMPING YOU DESERVE IT. THERE IS A TIME FOR IT HOWEVER. i LIKE THE MOVE LATE WHEN YOU KNOW A VERY AGGRESSIVE PLAYER BEHIND YOU WILL RAISE. THIS MOVE HAS SERIOUS DRAW BACKS AND IS ONLY WORTHY OF CONSIDERATION AT VERY AGGRESSIVE TABLES.

Here's a statement by T.J. Cloutier - pertaining to tournaments
Don't ever slow play before the flop, even with pocket Aces. After the flop, you should not slow play unless you have the nuts.
Thought this might be interesting to some.
A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

very well put they are the best starting hand i normally raise to 4x the bb depending how the table is playing if they are tight they will fold but then you get that loose player that plays every hand so he is the one you can catch if the flop looks to be in my favor then i make a move not that it always works .. So i play them differently depending on stack size blinds table play and position....

Play'em hard!
I never slow play aces. Been burned way too many times. Just big bet pre flop and have them make a decision. You have the nuts at that point in time. Win big or steal blinds either way it is a win.

I TOTALLY disagree with slowplaying aces preflop. i want my aces to be headsup against one other opponent, and would much rather win a little, than to lose alot (and AA is known for this).
As far as AA losing 90% of the time when shoved with preflop?? Ummm.. I don't think so, pretty sure they're at least an 87% fav. over any two random cards preflop. I'd be happy to reraise your reraise preflop with my AA,.. anytime. I just flatcall with them,.. I'm giving the first raiser pot odds to call,.. I've just priced him in where he has to make the call by just flat calling with them. Sorry,.. but not what I'd like to do with them.
AND,.. so how can ya be sure that one of your opponents hasn't flopped a set with a raggedy textured rainbow flop??? Maybe its deepstack play and he's calling the preflop raise with 3-3 looking at his hand being a great +EV hand if in fact he does flop the set. It'll be so well concealed he'll have a great chance of taking all my money (sorry, but online it's tough for me to laydown AA on flop like J-6-2 rainbow, even if my opponent is re-raising me).
I'll slowplay stuff occassionally, but would rarely do that with AA (different if headsup or under certains situations but am not writing a book here).
It also depends on your own style of play and how you are perceived at the table. It's a fact that pass/pass or loose or tight is a losing style of poker and that TAG (tight agg/agg is a winning style).
Maybe if I'm seeing a flop heads up vs. one other opponent and I know he's aggressive, for sure I'll check to him KNOWING that he'll come out firing a bet into the pot (and then I'll probably just check-raise him,.. cuz the check call is pretty much a huge sign of strength anyways and chances are I"m not going to get anymore money out of him on the turn,.... if he's half decent anyways).
Potentially giving someone a free card under most circumstances is a dangerous way to play. Sure you're gonna get paid off nicely at times but you'll also run the risk of getting sucked out on too (maybe all too often??).

Slow or no Slow
I think it all depends on the type of company your keeping at the table. If it's an extremely loose table, then slow rolling your aces is going to burn you alot more often than a tight one.

Well it depends on what limit and the buyin. In the limit and freerolls of course they will get cracked. I say 50/50 depending on how many see the flop. In nl, they stand a better chance, depending if you raise enuff pre flop and the type of players at your table. It just hard to tell with so many possible scenarios.
