Weighing the options

When I came to holdem as favored game, I had held 5 card stud and 7 card stud as the only valid poker games. Having grown up on DR PEPPER WILD (2-4-10) and jokers played as wild or aces...str8s...and flushes, HOLDEM didn't at first appear to offer the excitement I was looking for in a game of chance. With nine players and the flop, turn and river cards, I have come to see Holdem as the most exciting game offered to the better players, whether it be playing free chips or cash. I marvel at the pro's play on WSOP and WPT and see lesser hands win huge pots. Skill, chance, luck, whatever one calls it, it is the skill of the one who pushes the chips anf the timing in which it is done!
