raise more 3X BB plus 1 BB per limper, and or bet more on the Flop, the turn, and the river, watch out for str8s and flushes.... your bet should be going up as you see the flop, turn, river. You have to make them pay to see the next card, see if they are willing to pay to see the next card.

Having pocket aces - if I ever have them - is an instant race for me not matter what happened before me. usually 3-5 x the Big Blind. I'm not such a big fan of slow play.

You think that the Bullets are an easy play at first , but think that you can win with one top pair, trips, quads and small chances for flush and str8
I was in a tourney vs a novice player , had like 4000 chips and the blinds were 50/100 and went all in with AA. The novice player calls me with J 7 not suited... and the flop turns 9 J 7
How about that?

There isn't one correct way to play pocket aces. It all depends on the situation that you are in, the other players, position at the table, stack sizes, table image. If you always play killer hands the same way, other players will soon pick up on that.

You must be a great player then!

It takes a really great player to lay down pocket aces! It must be true, because a commentator on a TV show said it!

Depends, if I'm playing Nit then any kind of a raise and I may as well be waving a big flag that says AA over here, I'll limp pre flop, bet flop, any raise and I'm outta there.
If I'm playing maniac then I can't get my money in there fast enough and then I can cuss the big donk who called me and sucked out with his 7 2 off.
Fold pre-flop??? as Playful1 would say NEVAH!!!

I agree with it is situational.
Cash games. I raise big 7x to 10x, or I re-raise a raiser. My goal is to get All-In pre-flop, and drive off the small pocket pairs if I can. If I am lucky enough to hit my set with a safe board, I will slow play acting like I am afraid of the Ace. If I do not hit my set, I play super aggressive to try and get straight and flush draws gone. If the board already has a straight or flush, I slow down and see and also see if I have the nut flush should a fourth of the suit come. Also, I consider other sets if anyone stayed.
Single table tournament. Depends on my image for that game, if I have been playing lose, I push hoping someone tries to catch me. If I have been playing tight, then I make a 4x to 6x raise trying to get heads up. If there is a raise in front of me, I re-raise hoping to entice them to push.
MTT. These are marathons and depends on stage.
Early. I push. There is always someone willing to risk it early, and if I can get HU with one person I will take AA every time.
Middle. I make sure to bet in a way that I either get heads up or take down the blinds. AA is awesome heads up. Run some stats and watch how far it drops playing 3-way or 4-way.
Cash line. If I am short, I am pushing no question. If I am big stack and it will not risk my cashing, I am trying to get heads-up. If I am middle stack, and cannot guarantee heads up I am cautious. If there are two all-ins before me, and I am middle, I lay them down.
Past cash line but not final table. I play them to maximize my chance of winning so similar to Cash Line.
Final table. Similar to cash or single table.
Double or Nothing. Similar to cash line in MTT.
Of course those are all general. Players, my image, my position all can effect that.

As I was reading these posts, playing in a sitngo on doyles, I get A A. It was a turbo , middle rounds, in early pos. Players are starting to get aggressive so I min. raise, hopin for a reraise, which I got. I don't like playin around once I get the reraise, so I always push allin (almost always). Figure most the time they fold (allin was 4 times his bet btw). I'd rather not take the chance of him hittin a 2 outer or something. He folded Q Q. I am now chip leader. Hopefully I'll at least cash.
