I have a dream... that i'll get my creditcard debt... payed down... with Poker winnings... Last month I sent for 200 dollars off pokerstars.. only bought in for 25... If I can keep that up... i'll be able to send the cards extra money every month lol.. Most months I usually send for just the minium $50 then lose my remaining money that I have left... so now I'm broke again... and going to buy in tommorrow on payday...
WISH ME LUCK... I only have about 2K in credit debt... just don't want to get it outta control.. my sister has probably 20K in debt..
I know this is a dumb... article, but i'm new... and thougth i'd get it off my chest... also thought other people are probably doing the same thing.. or planning to...

OK GOOD LUCK,
But I call that trying to piss in the wind. No offence but you're probably better off working to pay off your debt and playing poker when you're fit to. Poker will be fun for you when you win and do well, not so fun if you don't or have an extended bad spell.
Good point, Just thought it'll help me make larger... payments... so I can eventually.. improve my credit score.. or something..
I am working... I just can't seem to make enough... at parttime... and I don't wanna work two jobs... So i'm trying to treat poker as my 2nd job...
a couple hundred extra bucks a month can't hurt... Anyways... i'l try my luck... if it don't pay off... doesn't matter all that much...
I think I have a better than a Piss in the wind chance though... at making some decent extra money off of poker.. the way it seems to be going recently...
I think it's a good mistake trying to play poker for earning money if you have a lot of debt.. You play at poker only the money you can loose, I'm not sure you can loose money with 2K in debt
After if you play low-limit for fun it's another problem, but don't play for winning 2k, it's the best way to finish homeless

Sure I wasn't implying anything regarding you, merely the circumstances. It would be fantastic if you could make some extra playing, everybody would welcome that.
Just remember though one swallow doesn't make a summer
I don't wanna sound like a bum... not really what I intended... I have enough to play poker... just can't buyin for like over 50 bucks at a time... plus I didn't get into debt playing poker... I got into debt... from Gas, Food, Girlfriends, and Videogames.. It's not like I'll do another cash advance just to buyin to poker.. before my paycheck...
Thanks for your concern... just don't wanna look like a bum though... the debt isn't like too overwhelming... just that I don't care to be paying over 100 bucks a month to just interest...
Thanks for your concern though, but the only way I'd be homeless is if I started using drugs or going to bars everyday... This debt has built up over 4 years though... not overnight...
Just want to let everyone know.. I was just trying to come up with an interesting topic... not... look like a charity case though... I know these things take time... i'm not trying to do this in like 6 months or anything anyways...

Initially i thought your post might be one of these spam postings. Subsequent posts leave me with the impression that you are not a bum and seriously want to give your ideas a throw, I can't knock that, I can only advise if it helps. Welcome to the forum and if you are serious then here is the place to be. I look forward to hearing about your successes and playing you at our games. Take a good look around the forum, articles etc. We're not all as grumpy as me
I held back from posting in this thread - because its not for me to tell people what to do and how to handle their lives etc (personally I avoid credit cards like the plague) poker advice / suggestions maybe better ground ...
but the important thing here is to have good bankroll management and an affordable poker budget ... and the discipline to stick to both.
but all I can say is dont put the pressure on your play that you want to clear your credit card / make $500 / pay for a holiday etc if its not realistic ... and even if it is ... focus on the game only
and ONLY play with money you can afford to loose ... that isnt to say you will loose but
players must allow enough in their bankroll / or total poker budget to be able to get through the downs to benifit from the ups
you can make some nice money on the side - but dont aim higher than you can manage with your bankroll - that is the road to zero
there are several article in our article section on bankroll management etc as its a really important discipline to have with a $10 bankroll / $100 bankroll or a 100k bankroll
cheers scrawnybob

I like the idea that you actually did something with your winnings, rather than letting it dwindle away at the poker tables. I wish you lots of luck with you continued success. Be sure to come here and post when times aren't so good. You'll get plenty of support then, too. Best of luck!
