    Default Free GameCalc

I have tried GameCalc which I got free from Titan Poker.
I have used this software a couple of times on the the mini option but ...I can't get to set the options.
I think it is practically useless and if someone followed it's advise for even part of a game they would lose a packet.

What do you think of it?

Default useless or not being used correctly ?

    hi phloater

I think it's as good as any other poker odds calc - which suggests if your having problems or it isnt working very well - your probably not using it right

odds are odds are odds - they're not elastic they are maths

there are full instructions on their site http://www.gamcalc.com

(other players bear in mind if you signup to titan on their banners it doesn't help 4kingpoker and you miss out on the $250 free tournie)

I think they have an aggressiveness setting which you will need to experiment with - but the mathmatics of poker are the same - so the maths of odds calcs should be the same

the advice will depend on how YOU set it up what it give you back apart from giving you raw odds data - which again is a fact of maths not something that will be different from one odds calc to another

also bear in mind that slagging it off when by the sound of it your not using it right does alot of damage to our promotion

go back and have a look at the info and check your using it right - if nothing else odds calcs give you the hard maths and stats which any player should find extremely helpful in deciding what to do

finding you dont like using an odds calc generally is very different to criticising one specifically (which we happen to be adding to our titan bonus offer)

how many other poker odds calculators have you used to compare it to ?

    hi

not good if your both having probs - one seems to be an issue of how best to use it
and the other how to get it to work at all

    worth reading -

    http://www.gamecalc.com/about.html

things like not getting the calc to attach properly will mean it doesn't work which might be the problem

Once you are seated at a poker table, drag the Gamecalc poker tool icon over the poker room window and click the Attach button.

You will now see that each seat is numbered with a box. Click on the appropriate box that indicates where you are sitting.(You must already be seated in the game for Gamecalc to attach.)

After Gamecalc attaches to your poker room, it will now start autoreading the Texas Holdem hands dealt within this poker room.

A dashboard will open that shows the cards dealt, the “hand odds” of your own Texas Holdem hand, as well as a “betting spectrum” to recommend the preferred betting strategy for your hand.

In some cases, it may be necessary to move the poker room window and the dashboard window so they are not covering one another. Simply click and drag the windows using your mouse until they are positioned the way you want them. The screenshot below shows an example where the dashboard window sits below the Texas Holdem poker room window.

the the Important Note: if Gamecalc covers the Texas Holdem Poker room window, then Gamecalc cannot autoread the cards dealt within the poker room. If this happens, simply click and drag the windows until they do not cover one another. It is recommended that you use a 800x600 resolution or higher in order to fit both windows on the screen nicely.

In terms of what ALL odds calcs do - which saves you doing the maths in your head (probably incorrectly) and allows you to make your own decisions based on the correct maths -

Gamecalc quickly and clearly displays drawing odds for flop, turn and river.

Gamecalc also calculates pot odds for flop, turn and river.

Pot odds slider bar indicates whether your call is a good decision at a glance.

Implied odds can easily be taken into account when viewing the call indicator.

Displays EV (expected value) for each hand

***** What the online poker tool dashboard does not show *****

The betting advice does not take into account the chances that one or more of your opponents are bluffing. The betting advice, as well, cannot determine times in the Texas Holdem game when you want to be aggressive or cautious based on your "read" of other players.

Why not? Texas Holdem, in addition to odds and statistics, is also a game of “reading” other players. While Gamecalc will help master the odds of Texas Holdem, only experience will teach you how to read other players and how to use this knowledge.

Switching Gamecalc to "full mode" and using game options

Each time you attach Gamecalc to a Texas Holdem poker room, it automatically opens up the dashboard window in a minimized mode (“mini-mode”), to fit better on your computer screen. To view a more informative dashboard screen with more information, and to access the Gamecalc options menu, just click on the "full mode" button.

In "full mode" you can see more Texas Holdem hand information and access the Gamecalc options menu.

Simply click on the "mini mode" button to return dashboard to its minimized size.

hope thats a help to be able to get the software running & also to be using it effectively

    cheers scrawnybob

Default how does it work ?

    hi RodrigoLoko

if you signup and deposit at Titan poker using our banners / links and put in BONUS CODE: 4kingpoker on signup you will get the gamecalc software free + the 100% up to $500 bonus + free entry into our 25 player only $250 tournament

As far as I am aware there doesnt seem to be a problem with the software as suggested - check the web for gamecalc problems

As with all odds calculators they need to be used correctly

How do odds calcs work generally ?

they give you the odds / outs and chances / % of making hands / pot odds etc from the cards your dealt in relation to the board cards - giving you the accurate maths so you can make a more a educated decision

some (including gamecalc & pokerbility) will also make recommendations of how to play the cards / bets etc having processed the maths and give a suggestion

it is important to note that the settings ie aggressive / tight / passive etc can be put into the calc to influence its suggestions - get this wrong and it will obviously come up with suggestions that dont suit all player styles - this you have to change until your happy that it is correct for how you want to play

I personally would use an odds calc purely for the statistically number crunching - ie. giveyou odds / outs & pot odds - the accurate pot odds is the most incorrectly calculated figure if done in your head / by feel - so this is very useful raw data - what you do with it once you have it is up to you

    Default Options button

The biggest issue I have with the software is that there is no "Options" button for me to set it up properly.
The only button is the one that says "Manual mode".
There is no way for me to set it to Full Mode either. I just get the Dashboard open every time I use it.
I have read all the instructions before I started this thread and tried to contact them via the "Contact us" button on their site.
Twice I sent an email and both times the email could not be delivered to them.
Any help as to how to set the options would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
