I just don't think he is anywhere near the best player in the world. He hasn't won a bracelet in any other form other than hold em. I compare him to Mariano Rivera. He is the best at the one thing he does (a bad ass cutter). Its worked for him, but he only pitches two innings max. Not the best pitcher in the game, but the best closer...

Now I would have to say that he is the best Tournament hold em player in the world. I think you have to give him that. From everything that i have heard, he isn't that great at cash games. He admitted losing $500k to Ivey playing chinese poker.

To start with have u ever play chinese ?? This game is almost 100 % luck, there is almost no skill when playing chinese.

I have to admit that hellmuth it is not the best overall player, but he is the best holdem tournament player for sure.
