Full Tilt Poker May Ban Members From Upcoming Poker Stars NAPT

Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker are the two largest poker sites in the world, and have been for a very long time. They both serve U.S. players and they have long been rivals in an effort to win over the most number of loyal players to their online poker tables. So far, PokerStars is winning.

PokerStars has long hosted many live land-based poker tournament series’ around the world, including the European Poker Tour (EPT) and the newest addition to the PokerStars roster, the North American Poker Tour.

The PokerStars North American Poker Tour started just this year with the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. It continues this week in Las Vegas at the Venetian as the PokerStars NAPT Venetian, part of the Venetian’s regular Deep Stack Extravaganza.

The NAPT looks to become so popular that ESPN even signed up to broadcast the events.

And then the news came out that Full Tilt Poker may be barring their members from participating in the PokerStars NAPT events, including the upcoming NAPT Venetian and following that, the NAPT Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.

If Full Tilt Poker does indeed prevent its players from being a part of the PokerStars North American Poker Tour, it will not be the first time such a thing has happened in the online poker world. For a minute, PokerStars forbid its members from participating on the TV show, Poker After Dark, which was sponsored by FullTilt.

Rumors and speculation are all there are right now, however, as it seems the truth of the matter is as hidden as your hole cards. One source says that Full Tilt Poker has been contacting its members “instructing” them not to attend any NAPT events. Another source says that FTP put out a missive reminding their members, Full Tilt Pros, and Red Pros are all free and welcome to play in any other site’s tournaments.
