January 30, 2009 - DoylesRoom figurehead and WSOP Legend Doyle Bruson has bet against his own death in 2009. Doyle appeared in a "Top 100 people most likely to die in 2009" list written by crazy webmaster Mack Rawden who predicted he was the 16th most likely person to drop dead in 2009 - most likely from obesity.
Putting Doyles odds of dying in 2009 at 10-1, Mack Rawden was swiftly branded a "clown" by Doyle in his blog at doylesroom.com
"He said obesity would cause my death. He should have seen me 5 years ago when I was 130 lbs heavier. Anyway, he said it was a 10% chance I would die. I would like to lay 10-1 for any amount if anybody knows this joker,"
Doyle the prop bet and poker legend insta called when Rawsen put up $1,000 bet on his death, happy to take 10-1 on his money and make the bet ...
Mack Rawden has now bet $1,000 that Doyle Brunson will die in 2009. If Rawden wins, one of Doyle's friends will cover the bet ($10,000) in the hopefully unlikely event of his death.
Both sides of this crazy death bet have agreed that all winnings will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
